Harting adds A-size hardware to outdoor connector range

Harting has filled a gap in its Han-Eco Outdoor connector series by introducing A-sized housings (10A and 16A for those familiar with Harting’s nomenclature) .
Han are modular connectors, allowing users to select multiple contact types and pack them into various size housings.
Previously A-size was only available in the Han-Eco industrial version, which lacks the fluorinated rubber (FPM) profile and flange gaskets of Outdoor types.
Aimed at carrying tens of amps in multi-conductor circuits in demanding environmental conditions, Eco Outdoor A-size connectors are designed for EN 45545-2 use at hazard levels up to three (HL3).
Larger (B-sized) housings are also available, in both Outdoor and industrial forms.
Eco Outdoor parts are moulded from plastic, making them lighter than metal equivalents, for example the firm’s ‘M’ housings.
“The new version retains all the benefits of the Han-Eco series, including ease of installation, corrosion resistance, and flexible assembly options,” claimed Harting. “In particular, the combination of an integral frame and an optional integral cable gland minimises the need for fitting additional components during assembly.”
