Cliff Electronics has added a panel mounting BNC connector with a moulded plastic body to its FeedThrough connector range, all of which mount through the industry standard 24mm XLR panel cut-out.
It comes in both 50Ω and 75Ω versions, and saves weight over the earlier metal version (~15g compared to ~28g).
“The BNC connector is widely used for RF signals, video, test equipment and instrumentation,” said Cliff MD John Hall. “In addition to the lighter weight of our new connector, there is a cost saving to customers of around 20%. We can also supply our plastic BNC connectors pre-assembled into rack panels offering systems integrators fast and convenient system assembly.”
FT connectors are double-sided to allow the use of common standard cabling the the front and back, removing the need for soldering or screw terminals inside the enclosure during assembly. They may be mounted from the front or back of a panel – allowing a low rear profile option to accommodate tight behind-panel spaces.
Cliff manufactures in audio, optical and power connectors in the UK and at its factory in China. All versions of Cliff’s XLR footprint connectors are in full production and available direct from Cliff and distributors in the UK and Europe.
