The appointment comes several months after Pure’s sale from former owner, Imagination, in September last year. It was sold to AVenture AT of Austria for $2.6 million.
Yassaie, Imagination’s former CEO, founded Pure in 2002 and, that year, Pure brought out its first radio, the Evoke-1.
“Since its creation, Pure has been instrumental in the progress of the digital radio markets both in UK and internationally and has become a household brand in the process,” says Sir Hossein, “I have always valued the passion of its people and the strength of its brand. It is a real privilege to become Chairman of this great British company, and I look forward to working closely with the team and seeing Pure continue to deliver on its strategy for growth.”
Pure’s CEO, Paul Smith commented: “We are delighted that Sir Hossein has accepted the role as Chairman to help guide Pure into its next phase. His unique combination of knowledge of Pure, his wealth of market knowledge and his incredible industry relationships, will help us steer Pure into an exciting new chapter.”
