Siemens and Tsinghua set up robotics R&D centre in Beijing

Siemens and Tsinghua University are to set up a robotics research centre in Beijing.
“China’s digital transformation is already having a profound impact on its economy. With Made in China 2025 and the Belt and Road Initiatives, China intends to upgrade its national industry and boost its global competence through digitalization-focused innovations,” says Siemens CTO Roland Busch.
The centre will focus on new mechatronics systems, human-robot collaboration and the application of artificial intelligence in robotic controllers.
Siemens already has 4,500 R&D People in China situsted in 20 R&D hubs. Last year they generated over 11,000 patents and patent applications in China.
