Quarter brick hits 1kW and 97% efficiency for telecoms

Murata has announced the 1kW quarter brick dc-dc converter.
The fully regulated DRQ-11.4/88-L48xx series provides 11.4V output at 88A, with a Vin Range of 36 to 60Vdc, operating from 48V battery systems or 54V networking equipment. Efficiency peaks at 97%.
Developed by Murata Power Solutions to the industry standard DOSA high power 1/4 brick specification, the converter modules include, or have options on, parallel load sharing between two or more modules, pre-bias protection, positive or negative on/off logic options and protection against: short-circuit, over-current, over-voltage and over-temperature – pre-biased start-up eliminated reverse current issues during system start and shut-down.
1,500Vdc of input-output isolation is provided – the series is designed and tested to meet the industry requirements of IPC-9592 Revision B.
An integrated baseplate and the 97% efficiency help promote cooler operation for reliability and longevity.
Applications are expected in networking and telecommunications infrastructure, communications, network security, routers, wireless base stations, telecommunications switches and electronics, computing equipment.
