Keysight Technologies has introduced a PXIe microwave signal generator with frequency coverage up to 44GHz and modulation bandwidth up to 1GHz.
This means the generator is suitbale for creating waveforms used in emerging 5G and aerospace and defense DVT applications.
Its phase noise spec means that the M9383A PXIe signal generator delivers 1% EVM, an important measure of 5G modulated signal performance, for 800MHz wide pre-5G waveforms.
The instrument comes with Keysight’s Signal Studio or SystemVue software which creates validated Verizon pre-5G standard (5GTF) compliant waveforms and 5G candidate waveforms, such as 8 x 100 MHz OFDM component carriers.
The PXIe signal generator has been designed to be scalable and upgradable. Engineers can add channels to either vector or analogue configurations.
It is also possible to upgrade frequency, bandwidth and other performance characteristics as signal standards evolve. Modulation bandwidths of up to 2GHz are supported through external IQ inputs.
