Plastic Logic strengthens ties with E Ink for flexible displays

E Ink Holdings, the Taiwan-based electronic ink printing technology firm, is continuing its partnership and supply deal with Plastic Logic, the Germany-based manufacturer of flexible electrophoretic displays (EPDs).
E Ink Holdings, the Taiwan-based electronic ink printing technology firm, is continuing its partnership and supply deal with Plastic Logic, the Germany-based manufacturer of flexible electrophoretic displays (EPDs).
Ink and Plastic Logic have been cooperating to develop the EPD market for more than 10 years.
Johnson Lee, President of E Ink Holdings, writes:
“One of E Ink’s key market strategies is to partner with the industry leaders to expand the use of epaper in products and applications.”
“We expect the partnership to leverage E Ink and Plastic Logic’s expertise to provide more flexible applications to customers.”
The big application for plastic displays is in wearable devices such as watches and health monitors.
“Signing the MSA creates mutually beneficial opportunities for geographic expansion, the penetration of new markets and the further acceleration of e-paper displays’ adoption in a multitude of applications.” said Tim Burne, CEO, Plastic Logic.
