Samsung is targeting a 25% share of the foundry market by 2022, E.S.Jung (pictured), head of Samsung’s foundry business, told Reuters earlier today. Currently Samsung holds a 7.9% foundry share.

Samsung is currently building its most advanced fab at Hwaseong in Korea which will run both memory and foundry logic.
Samsung says it may invest as much as $22 billion in semiconductor capex this year – the year it expects to overtake Intel as the No.1 chip manufacturer.
