Rockwell Automation has introduced a solid-state cable pull switch, through its Allen-Bradley brand.
“Because the Lifeline 5 cable-pull switch is a solid-state switch, there is no mechanical wear that is often associated with traditional switches,” claimed product manager Steve Tambeau. “That means increased up-time and more reliable safety function over a longer duty cycle.”
LED indicators are provided to assist in cable tensioning, and to show switch status and diagnostics during operation.
It is available in die-cast aluminium or stainless-steel housings with IP66 or IP67 environmental ratings respectively. The die-cast aluminium model also offers an optional integrated push button.
Guardmaster Lifeline 5 has a microcontroller inside and compensate for thermal expansion and cable sag.
