The perpetrator of yesterday’s New York terror attack was a Uber driver.
We are horrified by the senseless act of violence,” said Uber, “our hearts are with the victims and their families. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide full assistance.”
Uber said Sayfullo Saipov had passed a background check. He has been banned by Uber.
Saipov, from Uzbekistan, left a note in the rented truck used for the massacre claiming he committed the attack on behalf of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.
“We must not allow ISIS to return, or enter, our country after defeating them in the Middle East and elsewhere,” said US President Donald Trump who called for an extension of extreme vetting of immigrants.
