Q2 smartphones up 7%, says IHS

350.9 million smartphones were shipped in Q2 up from 320 million in Q2 2016, says IHS.
Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Oppo and Vivo grew, while Xiaomi shrank and missed out on a top-five spot.
Apple shipped 41 million units which was 2% up on the 40.4 million of Q2 2016.
Huawei shipped 38.5 million units – up 20% from Q2 2016 forba market share of 11%
Oppo grew 39%, from 21.9 million units in Q2 2016 to 30.5 million units for 9% market share..
Vivo grew 45% from 16.4 million units in Q2 2016 to 23.9 million units for 7% share.
Both Oppo and Vivonare made by the same company – BBK Electronics
Xiaomi reversed a four quarter slide from 15.2 million units in Q2 2016 to 12.8 million units in Q1 2017, by shipping 23.2 million units in Q2 2017. This represents growth of 52 percent year-over-year – just missing a spot in the top five globally by 0.7 million units.
The rest of the market declined by 9% year-over-year. This number includes LG, which declined from 13.9 million units shipped last year to 13.3 million units this quarter.
