DRAM price goes ever upwards
The price of PC DRAM modules rose 4.6% in July compared to June, reports DRAMeXchange, after rises of 10% in Q2 and 40% in Q1.
DRAMeXchange expects price increases to continue in Q3.
“The DRAM market in the second half of this year will be entering the busy season with tight supply made worse by the temporary suspension of N2 (Fab-2) owned by Micron Technology Taiwan (MTTW),” says DRAMeXchange’s Avril Wu.
thought that Micron’s DRAM output was down by 50,000 wafers as a result of the stoppage.
DRAMeXchange reckons the annual bit supply growth rate for this year will be 19.5%, while the annual bit demand growth will be over 22%.
