Productronica is to expand this year with the addition of two co-located events as it focuses on robotics, miniaturisation, semiconductors and digitalisation.
Alongside the new shows, Productronica will be split into five areas: PCB & EMS; SMT; Cable, Coils & Hybrids; Semiconductors; and Future Markets.
It is expected to attract upwards of 37,000 visitors and around 1,200 exhibitors when doors open on 14 November.
Semicon Europa
Semicon Europa has signed an agreement to run alongside both Productronica and its sister show, Electronica, on an annual basis up until 2021. Semicon Europa is expected to host around 400 exhibitors and focuses on semiconductors, printed and organic electronics in areas such as automotive, flexible hybrid electronics, power, medical and smart manufacturing.
IT2Industry
IT2Industry, meanwhile, focuses on IT developments for smart manufacturing and covers topics such as cloud computing, big data, analytics and digital transformation in the manufacturing sector.
Messe Munchen managing director Falk Senger said: “Together with our parallel events Semicon Europa and IT2Industry, we offer a comprehensive overview of electronics manufacturing, semiconductors and Industry 4.0.”
The show will also host the second edition of the Productronica Innovation Awards, plus features such as the IPC Hand Soldering World Championships and a range of speaker forums.
Some 33 UK businesses have signed up to exhibit at Productronica so far, although that number is expected to grow significantly before the event opens. Confirmed UK exhibitors include, among others, ABI Electronics, Cambridge Nanotherm, Electrolube, Fischer Connectors, Omron Europe, Pickering Electronics and XJTAG.
Productronica 2017 takes place on 14-17 November 2017 in Munich, Germany. Electronics Weekly will publish a preview for the show in our 1 November issue.
