Y-T-D semi sales are up 23.7%, reports the SIA with Q2 an all-time record.
Q2 sales were $97.9 billion, up 6% from Q1 and up 24% on Q2 2016.
June sales were $32.6 billion, up 2% on May and up 24% on June 2016.
“The global semiconductor industry has enjoyed impressive sales growth midway through 2017, posting its highest-ever quarterly sales in Q2 and record monthly sales in June,” says SIA CEO John Neuffer.
In June, US sales grew 33% y-o-y, all regional markets reported year-to-year sales growth of at least 18% as well as sequential growth.
“Conditions are favorable for continued market growth in the months ahead,” says Neuffer.
